Marina Barrage

The sixth day in Singapore, we had the opportunity to visit the marina barrage, where we are invited to see one of the beauties of Singapore. In museums marina barrage we see how to use water properly, using water for drinking or for flood control.

In the museum also remind you back a few decades, one of the gallery shows recounts the clean up of the Singapore and Kallang Rivers in the 1970s. Through the clean-up spanning ten years, witness Singapore’s development from independence towards a practicing environmental awareness.

It’s so hot, but we must take a photo 😀

Next day, October 8th 2015 its time for us to identify the problem that we got from evergreen. We discuss about some problem may happen at evergreen. Me and Team 5 got idea to make Automated Lamp and Emergency System for elderly’s room because some elderly told us it will be so nice if they could turn off and turn on the light automatically. And the common emergency call is just in the corner, so if they need help the emergency call is too far. So Team 5 make an emergency system also.

Mr Jason Lim told us to solve the problem using PDT that we have to find what we know, what we don’t know and what to find out. And then, we have to present to each team and other team will ask question and give advice about our idea.

Tiring Trip – Marina Barage – Merlion

on 10 October 2015, we have a schedule to visit the marina barrage. The first time I got there I thought marina barrage is a beach alone or can be called a bay then as usual we took a few photos. After that we were invited to enter the main building of the marina barrage, I just realized that singapore is in desperate need for this place because barrage marina serves as a dam to stem the sea water from entering the river flow too much, because Singapore does not have a lot of water sources. On other hand barrage marina also serves to make any excess water when heavy rains come, and no flood in singapore.

Marina barrage also has a water pump that can pump as much water a second to an Olympic swimming pool. after that we were invited to the roof of the marina barrage there we found a very large grasslands from there we can see the buildings are incredibly beautiful. do not forget we take pictures of themselves or together.

Time for lunch !! after the meal we continue our journey on foot. I think it will be running for a while, it was our goal is Merlion. Before there we passed Garden Bay bay, actuallly in our country as there are also many plants, but the arrangement is not like in the Garden bay bay, very neat and beautifully supported by the modern architecture of the building which makes this park to be like paradise plants.

lunch

After the garden bay the bay we walked again towards the spiral bridge, remarkable how a bridge could spiral almost resembles the shape of DNA. Singapore Flyer !!, finally get to see this stuff, but unfortunately I do not ride. After a short rest we continue our trip to the Merlion, because the situation is too crowded at Merlion we decided to take a break and carry out the afternoon prayers. Moment is one of the moments that I can not forget, I would like to thank Daryl and Juhan because you have been trying to find a place for us to pray, about 15 minutes we were driving around the parking area to find the prayer place. Daryl and Juhan run, asking every worker, I know you guys actually just as tired as we were, and I am very grateful for the help of all of you.

spiral

After that we went back to where we rested, we finally headed Merlion. Unbelievably, this is the icon of the country singapore. Did not waste another chance we all take a lot of pictures there, ranging from selfie to take a picture that says to people that we know in Indonesia. It was tiring but I got a new experience on the state of singapore city, its history and friendship that exists between the PNM Student and RP Student.    merlion
